On Monday, the right-wing social-media platform Parler announced that it had an entered into an agreement to sell the company to West. Parler, whose chief executive, George Farmer, is married to Owens, was de-platformed from Google and Apple’s app stores in January 2021, following the siege of the Capitol.
Exact terms of the Parler deal weren’t disclosed, though Parler said it must still enter into a definitive agreement with West and expects to close in the fourth quarter. Parler’s parent, Parlement Technologies, would remain involved by providing technical services and cloud support.
West responded on Instagram, writing “F— ADIDAS I AM ADIDAS ADIDAS R**ED AND STOLE MY DESIGNS.”
West is one of few artists who has the resources to open his own retail stores, self-release albums and book sold-out gigs. Last year, Forbes estimated his net worth at $1.8 billion, derived mostly from his sneaker deal with Adidas
