AG Radio Welcome to the best night of your life
A DoorDash delivery driver has been fired after being caught on camera calling a Black customer a racial slur during a delivery. The video, which was posted on TikTok by the customer, Christina Derrica, has since gone viral, prompting swift action from DoorDash.
As seen in the video, the driver drops off a bag on Derrica’s porch and then can be heard saying “Here’s your food, n****r.”. He steps back to take a photo of the delivery, as required by the app, and then adds, “chow down [N-word],” before leaving. The video has garnered over three million views, sparking outrage online.
“Did he not see my Ring camera?!!? Fire him IMMEDIATELY, HELLO @DoorDash,” Derrica captioned her TikTok video. She further emphasized the severity of the slur in a follow-up post, confirming it was the “HARD ER.”
In This version the slur is bleeped out , so hopefully tiktok doesnt take it down. And YES it was the HARD ER. Doordash fired him but i still have NO CLUE who this man is
In response, DoorDash swiftly removed the driver from their platform.
“We’re horrified and appalled by this. Make no mistake – we have absolutely zero tolerance for racism,” said DoorDash spokesperson Julian Crowley in a statement. “This horrific incident violates both our policies and what we believe in. We have deactivated this Dasher account and reached out to the customer to offer our support.”
Derrica later confirmed that DoorDash had contacted her and assured her that the driver had been removed from the platform. She posted a screenshot of an email from a DoorDash customer service representative, who also mentioned that they would assist law enforcement if Derrica chose to report the incident to the police.
As of now, it remains unclear if a formal police report has been made. Derrica expressed her gratitude for the company’s prompt action, stating, “I still have no idea who that man is but thank you [DoorDash].”
